Hi Ari: Perhaps you misunderstood my post (and what I do professionally).

#1) I have NOT ever experienced an SEO ripoff myself, rather I merely tried to expose the unethical ripoff potential to newbies to internet marketing, or anyone else with a website who isn't getting good organic traffic and is realizing that proper attention to SEO is really a must in this day and time.

#2) I am a professional SEO consultant. However ... I do not charge outrageous prices for my services, I don't utilize unethical SEO techniques on any client's website and I do not ever promise top rankings once my initial SEO efforts are completed. As far as my work ethics are concerned, I will turn down potential clients who have very out-dated or poorly coded websites that want to employ me. I tell them SEO is not magic, and that it just isn't SEO anymore that will help get a website top rankings. The Google and Bing bots are way too smart these days for what may have once been true for "top rankings" in 1999! Either they allow a complete overhaul of their entire website's development before I will address their SEO concerns, or I bid them a polite goodbye and good luck. I tell them I will not perform SEO on a site that's poorly coded, terribly user unfriendly or the like ... that doing SEO and taking their money would be stealing and I don't run my business that way.
